Feature Race Performances

Won Group 2 Pago Pago Stakes (2yo)
Won Group 2 Royal Sovereign (3yo)
2nd Group 1 Golden Slipper (1st colt) Defeating four Group 1 winners

Exceed And Excel remains the pre-eminent source of 2yo speed in global racing. He is responsible for 150 stakes winners and prizemoney in excess of a staggering $154 million. He retired as the champion Australian sprinter after a stellar year winning the Up and Coming Stakes, Royal Sovereign Stakes (a feat emulated by Sidestep) and Roman Consul against his own age group. He then took out the Group 1 Newmarket Handicap and Group 1 Dubai Racing Club Cup against older horses, the latter in course record time. The Exceed And Excel legacy will live on for years to come through his ever-increasing band of sire sons.

Dextrous is one of Australia’s premiere broodmares. A multiple group winner as well as two-time winner and group performer as a 2yo, this blue hen mare has produced three individual Group 1 performers. An incredible 12 Group 1 horses are in the immediate family including the immortal Emancipation. The most brilliant and precocious member of this branch of a stunningly prolific black type family is none other than Sidestep.
